Sleeping in paradise – Natura Glamping
Sleeping in a tent is not for everybody, but the latest trend in glamping makes it a lot more attractive for those who are looking for comfort during their holiday. And if it’s a see-through tent with a stunning view on a mountain range, there’s nothing else to wish for. Welcome to Natura Glamping.
It might seem an endless road, taking you to Natura Glamping in the Serra da Gardunha in the centre of Portugal. To get to the top of the mountain for that amazing view you need to have some patience. But once you’re there it all makes sense.
On top of the world
You will feel on top of the world here, with the beautiful green mountains of the Serra da Estrela in front of you. The tents, and the comfortable beds inside of the tents, are all pointed in the direction of that spectacular view. Because the tents are see-through on one side, you can enjoy the view every second you’re here.
After sunset the lights in the towns and villages of the Serra da Estrela switch on and make it all even more impressive. Leave the curtains open all night, so you can enjoy that magnificent panorama each time you open your eyes.
Comfort
The word tent makes it sound all a bit basic, but it is definitely not. It’s like a normal hotel room with a fully equipped bathroom, an extra bedroom, comfortable beds and closet space. There’s even a hot tub outside on the terrace.
Shops or restaurants are nowhere to be found, so make sure you have all you need once you drive up the mountain. Natura Glamping does have its own restaurant, where you will have your breakfast served, but which also serves simple dinners.
Where
Natura Glamping is located in the Serra da Gardunha, in the region Centro de Portugal. It’s close to Fundão, Covilhã and the Serra da Estrela. To get there you will really need a car. Also because you won’t find any shops or restaurants within walking distance.

Unfortunately the website of Natura Glamping is not in English (you might have some trouble talking to the staff in English too), but for more information and bookings check here.
